Our Purpose for Giving

What we value is reflected through our choices about where we spend our time and resources. As a community of believers, our giving journey begins with reflecting on our values and then setting priorities for the purpose of allowing God to work through us to make a difference in our community and in the world. Ways to Give

There are many easy ways for you to give, including one-time gifts, online recurring giving, text-to-give and, of course, in the offering plate during our Sunday worship services. You can also drop off your cash or check offerings at the church office during office hours (Monday–Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm).

Online Giving

Give securely online using a debit card, credit card or bank ACH transfer. You’ll be able to set up an account with a username and password for reoccurring gifts. You can also choose the “quick give” option for one-time gifts without creating an account.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Bible say about giving?

The Bible says a lot about giving, but there are three main Biblical themes to ponder as you reflect on your decision to give:
• Money is a blessing from God.
• God is glorified when those who have been blessed, care for those who are in need.
• Money can be used for good, but it is also a potential idol and a force of disruption against a person’s ability to love God and neighbor.
• Further, when we consider the sacrifice that Christ made for humankind, how else can we act if our mind is on Jesus.

How much should I give?

Giving is a personal decision. The Bible teaches giving of “first fruits” side-by-side with tithing (tithing means to give one-tenth or 10% of income). (Numbers 18:13) Giving of first fruits means responding first to God’s call to give, rather than waiting until after the bills are paid and the amount leftover is known. We focus upon the first fruits teaching at Crossroads because it focuses us on God’s place in our lives and puts God’s place in our life ahead of our material needs.

For those of us who have been blessed with much, it puts God before all our “wants,” things that are not needs at all. It also encourages us to look at what we give to God in relation to time and talent, since these can also be first fruits.

May I choose where my donation goes?

Yes, but we encourage everyone to give their first-fruits/tithes to our general operations via “General Fund” and/or “Tithe” options. If you feel called to additional giving above and beyond your regular offering, we also offer specific fund choices for gifts to specific missions, ministries, and projects.

Your donation supports various local missions and the following ministries:

Does online giving devalue the worship aspect of giving?

Giving is not simply about giving money, but about an act of worship and gratitude to our Lord, who has given us all we have as His stewards. While online giving may feel differently than placing an envelope in a collection basket, God is more concerned with the heart of the giver than the mode of giving. You can participate cheerfully knowing that you have given your best and first fruits.

Do I pay any additional fees to give online?

There is no cost to the giver, although the church will incur a small transaction fee. Giving transactions made via Online Giving (web or app) will have the option to include an additional Convenience Fee. The Convenience Fee is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, but checking this box will help defray our cost for processing this transaction by adding it to your donation. Your entire donation, including any convenience fee, is tax-deductible.
